I am yet to
discover who I am! Most of us may be in this situation. The attempt to knowing
who you really are is only when prompted. There are multiple reasons for the
way I am or even who I am.
We all exist and
that is no big deal. Should the existence be of some value to anyone? More yes
than a no. Is that called a value-existence?
Could be. Does that make you who you are? Guess not! So what really makes you ‘who
you are’?
Unlike five
elements of nature, according to me, there is one important element that makes
you who you are – a Belief. The strength of the belief will
determine who you will be. Belief
could be in a tangible item or an intangible substance. Belief can be in any
form. It can be in a person, in God or in a thought. It can also be in an action,
reaction or even a miracle.
An instance cannot
make you who you are. What makes you – who you are or will be – is your belief.
Now, belief is a single characteristic, with multiple applications.
Let us take for
instance…a problem. The first step to resolving a problem is to understand that
for any problem there can only be two things…it may have a solution or it may
have no solution. If there is a solution, then there is no need to worry and if
there is no solution, then there is no
point worrying!
Take another
one…instances where you are in a testing situation. Show the strength to stand
tall and unnerved in such situations, to hang-in there with the objective of
resolving it.
One last…when you
think your efforts have not been paid off. Do not give up. Just continue to
give in your best, unconditionally. Wait for the outcome. Life is a great
leveler, it will give you what you deserve.
So what is common
in the above instances? The Belief. The belief in the first one is
that your mind can stay calm during a problem and the belief that you have the
strength to withstand and triumph in the second. In the third is that you believe
you have given the best you can and you have the faith that the best in
return for your efforts cannot escape you!
Similarly, believe your instincts, believe your thoughts; believe in your dreams too. They have no proof, but show the courage to have faith in them. Show the strength in your beliefs. Go ahead, have a belief, but have it unconditionally and strongly! A belief that does not change with time, people, events or even situations. That will make you who you are.
So it is less
important to know what I believe in or what makes me who I am. What is more
important is your belief and the faith to make you who you want
to be.
...discover…pursue…accomplish
